Hey moms! Buying for a toddler can be so confusing. They are just learning to speak and have no idea what they really want for their birthday or holidays until around age 4 or 5. My toddler just turned 4, and I have been paying attention to the shows she watches, what she asks for in a target, and the toy commercials that make her shake her booty. This year was the first year she was able to tell me a couple of items that she wanted. This post will give you a guide to some of the popular toys for toddlers and the appropriate age.

What ages are considered a toddler?

Ages 1-3 but use your judgment, but I will still consider age 4 for this post. So, ages 1-4.

Practice counting as you build numbers creating a town of buildings & friendly animals (Counting Town). Learn letter formation & phonics with 300+ words (ABCs), creating images in 5 playgrounds & watch them come to life on screen (Squiggle Magic).

6. Lego Duplo

Age (2+)

I like the Duplo style because they are more extensive. Two reasons for having larger Legos are great:

  1. If your children are younger and you are afraid of them swallowing the Legos
  2.  The cleaning up process is more manageable, and you won’t break your neck on them like the smaller Legos you never see in the middle of the night.

7. Baby Shark Musical Play Pad

When my children were around 18 months, they love to see Elmo dance; it would put a smile on their little faces and have them laughing for hours.
